Flight of the Conchords gig set for Glasgow
The Sopranos ended with a blackout and confusion and the fun that once was in Entourage is missing in its fourth season. This show is about a band called the Flight of the Conchords its a typical fish out water scenario presented in a very unique and quirky way, the show might reminds somebody of the short lived Tenacious D Jack Black series that also aired on HBO, because of the band element but this show is much more low-key and is extremely funny, the New Zealand accent just killes me! And the performances in this show are great especially by the bands terrible manager hilarious. This is definitely one of the funniest things on TV right now, together with the Office and 30 Rock. If you have a twisted kind of humor ala arrested development you will love this show Flight of the Conchords Trivia:

His Philly roots run deep, but even a street-smart rapper can wrap his mind around croissants and credit cards and his arms around upscale hotties. Before he became one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Will Smith Independence Day, Men in Black spent six seasons as a poor kid from Philadelphia who gets sent to his wealthy aunt and uncle in California to learn some class–leading to a classic sitcom collision of street smarts and pampered privilege.
Will and the Banks family snipe and bicker cheerfully while grappling with problems ranging from true-to-life to truly preposterous. The more realistic side of life is found in episodes such as when Will’s mother Vy Vernee Watson-Johnson has a new boyfriend and Will gets jealous, or when Will finds himself attracted to a girl Queen Latifah, Bringing Down the House , but won’t take her to the prom because she’s overweight. The ridiculous side bursts out when Will and his pompous cousin Carlton Alfonso Ribeiro decide to make money by becoming strippers.
But whether realistic or silly, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air stays a crisp, clean sitcom, with snappy writing and brisk, capable interplay among the cast, which also included James Avery and Janet Hubert-Whitten as Mr. Despite living in a fantasyland of wealth, the show regularly touched on racial and class issues–lightly, but not turning a blind eye to the complexities of American life.

Ralph Garman Two actors made brief appearances in supporting roles: Ryan Raddatz played Molly’s boyfriend, William who feigned shock at seeing her in a bikini , and Steve Ireland played David Decker, a “network executive” who negotiated with Gould to finish the “Meal Not Quite Fit for a King” challenge. After the written finish was executed, the actor in question would take a plate with their face painted on it and give it to Garman, who would then state a rhyming couplet that went “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, name , you’re dead to us” then throw the plate into the fireplace, breaking it.
In the final episode the three remaining “players” in this case Gould, “Brian”, and “Hutch” faced a final vote from the evicted “houseguests” similar to the final Tribal Council on Survivor with the one getting the most votes “winning”. The show experienced an unexpected shift during an early episode. Earl “the Veteran” had bonded with Gould.
When Earl was “voted” off the show, Gould began to weep and question his possible monetary gain at the cost of competing against his new friends. Both the other “contestants” and the show’s executives allegedly questioned the future of the show. While Gould was kept in the dark until the very end, the tone of the show was apparently altered according to the voiceover of the early episodes. While the original premise had been to make situations funny at Gould’s expense, it became clear that the audience would sympathize too strongly with his earnestness; later games and contests were rigged to ensure he would win.
Gould’s sensitivity came to the forefront in a later episode featuring a sumo wrestling contest. Gould knocked down Kristen Wiig, playing “Dr.

Bride of the Conchord – McKenzie marries childhood sweetheart That’s it, ladies – both Conchords have flown – Sunday Mar 22, by Rebecca Lewis Bret McKenzie, one half of the Flight of the Conchords duo, has left singledom behind and broken hearts all over the world by tying the knot with his childhood sweetheart Hannah Clarke in a small ceremony at a Wellington registry office. The couple are expecting their first child in July. Bret’s father, Peter McKenzie, said Wednesday’s modest wedding of just 25 guests was full of their closest friends and family, including a number of people involved with Flight of the Conchords who had flown from America.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks at Wellington’s Hawthorne cocktail bar, co-owned by McKenzie’s brothers Jonathan and Justin, before dinner at Polo in Miramar. Bret told one reporter: It is a dream come true.

The onetime college roommates portray New York newcomers who are clueless about cracking the music scene in the new HBO comedy series they co-created, Flight of the Conchords debuts Sunday, June 17, at 9: Describe your new HBO series. There are a lot of difficult situations that lead to awkwardness. We usually have one big awkward scene every show. Trying to describe it, we always fail to do it in a very appetizing way. Would it be accurate to call it semi-improvised?
We write full scripts, so we have a structure, and we improvise off that. Was that based on a myth New Zealanders have about us? Star Wars really made it confusing. Well I, actually, I expected the Ewoks to be here. I was really disappointed.
Washington Post Staff Writer Saturday, June 16, Comedy doesn’t have to be loud and laughter need not be convulsive for either to be satisfying. Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, who boldly under-bill themselves as “the fourth most popular folk-parody duo” in New Zealand, have come to America with a style of musical humor that’s sly, shy and wry. Fortunately, adventurous smarties at HBO have given the boys their own series in which to display it. There’s easily enough about it that’s sweetly fresh to make it worth hanging around for starting tomorrow night, after “Entourage”.

Close Austenland star Jennifer Coolidge. Jennifer Coolidge only needs to appear on screen and you’re primed to laugh. Oversexed and undereducated seems to have become her forte. Currently, she is starring as a vampish Polish cleaning lady in the US sitcom 2 Broke Girls where her every pout is a treat. Before that, she memorably played Legally Blonde ‘s Paulette, the scrunchied, sweetly frumpy manicurist whose stale romantic life Reese Witherspoon seeks to remedy.
But most people know year-old Coolidge as the ur-milf:
Actors: Jemaine Clement, Bret McKenzie, Rhys Darby, Kristen Schaal, Arj Barker Directors: James Bobin, Michel Gondry, Taika Waititi, Troy Miller They have dates on the show and these dates rival anything we saw on SEINFELD or FRASIER (which heretofore covered dating hell rather definitively).
Season Two’s brilliance needed time to sink in! However, after the season ended, I watched all the episodes several times again on HBO “On Demand” in April and was shocked at how fabulous some of the episodes that I thought I didn’t like were. My favorite episode is still Unnatural Love where Jermaine dates the Australian girl The Cup and the Tough Bretts are other great episodes.
I can’t wait to get mine! I can think of other musical duos which I really enjoy and put on my ipod. I can think of other performance artists who do leading edge work which is visually experimental. I cannot think of any other duo, either currently or in the past, who can do all three and do them all well. Why are viewers here debating season 1 versus season 2?
This is not remotely like anything else out there and it is so innovative that I can scarcely believe that it survived for a second season. If it had been on anything but HBO I think it would have been too leading edge and been cancelled after the first season.

Statler and Waldorf make a surprise appearance to trade banter with Segel and Fallon. As in past Muppet productions, remote-controlled versions of the Muppet characters were built for many of the wide shots. The pitch was well received and the pair was offered a deal to develop their script. In March , Variety first reported that Disney signed a deal with Segel and Stoller to create the next Muppet movie; with Segel and Stoller penning the script and Stoller attached to direct.
I think we’re bringing them back. A big part of the movie is rounding up all the Muppets from around the world, because they’ve all been separated. So it’s collecting them and bringing them together to put on this big show.
